What to Expect during a PRP Micro-needling Facial
At Institut’ DERMed Spa the client’s blood is drawn by Nurse Practitioner, Sabrina Peoples APRN, FNP-c, and placed inside a centrifuge device that will separate the red blood cells from the plasma. The plasma is the part that is used in the treatment. It is rich with platelets and growth factors and applied like a serum to the skin then micro-needled in. (Clients are given a topical anesthetic to help minimize any discomfort).
The PRP growth factors, along with other bioactive proteins in the plasma, work to stimulate and rejuvenate skin cells. New cells are produced, and collagen begins to form adding volume to the treated area. PRP uses your own body’s natural healing system to restore a more youthful look, which is unlike any other fillers that use synthetic substances. PRP can also be done on the hands, neck and chest for rejuvenation. Best results are achieved with a series of 3-4 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart with a maintenance treatment every 6-12 months afterwards.

What to Expect during a PRP Hair Restoration Treatment:
During a session, your scalp will be cleansed, and you will be given a topical anesthetic to help minimize any discomfort. A small amount of blood is drawn and placed inside the centrifuge device that separates the red blood cells from the plasma. The Platelet Rich Plasma, plus biotin and amniotic fluid solution is then injected, and or micro needled into the scalp. These substances help to stimulate hair re-growth.
Consultation is required to determine if you are a likely candidate for hair restoration treatments, and the number of treatments required will vary based on the patient’s current status.
